The drive prior to opening
A faint but still visable line can be seen on the top platter of this hitachi. In most cases its game over when you see this.
Normally bent heads that you can see here would not bother me so much, some drives wont keep spinning ling enough to kill themself but in this case you can see scattered bits of disk everywhere. This is definitely game over :(
